Jacobs Safe House is a
not-for-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide those in recovery a safe environment to live and to continue on their journey in recovery. Although we do not provide treatment we
do run our safe houses based opon the principles of the twelve steps.
We at Jacobs Safe House are serious about recovery. In fact we know that in order for us to remain clean and sober, we must ask each other for help when we are in need. Jacobs House understands the needs of its residents because all who are here are in or have been in the same situation. At the present time Jacobs Safe House can house approximately Twenty two males.

Jacobs Safe House is a recovery residence for persons who have suffered enough and are willing to work on a plan of recovery from addiction. The Philosophy of Jacobs Safe House is based on the belief that for a person to be whole; the physical, emotional and spiritual components of the individual needs to be healthy. The Objective of Jacobs Safe House is to re-incorporate the resident back into society, usefully whole and with the skills necessary to live constructive lives using the twelve steps and other complimentary programs of recovery.
Here at Jacobs Safe House we must all work together to maintain our community. In order for our community to work, we all need to do certain things each day. Some of us come into our community with certain skills that allow them to adjust to theoutside community quickly. Others come into our community with little sense of personal responsibility and have a more difficult time being responsible in our community. Because of this, we need to remind and encourage those who need to rebuild their sense of responsibilities. This we do with caring and courtesy.
Remember some of us are sicker than others, and some have a hard time adapting to a community environment.
Our Community only works well, if we all do our part:
- First we start by being responsible for ourselves. We make our beds, brush our teeth, and shower daily. This may be automatic for some, and at first harder for others. Some of us had no bed to make and no toothbrush to use. and some of us simply did not care at all during active addiction.
- Next, we are responsible for the care and maintenance of our individual house. We take out the trash, wash, rinse, dry and put away our dishes. We clean our bedrooms, restrooms, and kitchens. We also maintain the facilities grounds.
- Lastly, we are responsible for our community. As respectful, considerate, peaceful, loving and helpful people today, we are expected to conduct ourselves in a self respecting law abiding, polite and helpful manner. we become a stronger community by encouraging and supporting each other. Remember that our community only works if we all do our part.
